The Cape Town HKliving scented candle from the 70s collection is a new take on the iconic series of ceramic candles – this time in a slender form and in shades of purple, pink, and gold with characteristic reactive glaze.
The fragrance opens with fresh sage – wild, herbaceous, as if the wind had torn it from the cliffs and coastal paths of the Cape of Good Hope. In the heart of the composition, delicate rose petals bring a note of the lush gardens of Cape Town. The base is formed by warm, earthy tones of sandalwood and cedar – deep and soothing, like the view of the ocean from a high cliff after sunset.
The vessel is made of ceramic covered with reactive glaze in shades of deep purple, dusty pink, and honey gold, creating organic, irregular color transitions – no two pieces are identical. The slender, cylindrical shape on a base gives the candle an elegant, decorative character. After burning, the ceramic bowl gets a second life – as a candlestick, a container for small items, or a standalone decoration.
About the HKliving brand: A Dutch brand founded in 2009 by Emiel Hetsen and Sander Klaver. Their philosophy is a bold combination of retro vibe with modern design, natural materials with intense colors, and good humor with timeless aesthetics. The 70s collection is one of their most recognizable projects – ceramics hand-finished with reactive glaze, where no two pieces look the same.
